‘CYCLE HERITAGE QUIZ 2013’ captivates Pune city
An exhilarating Heritage quiz by Cycle Pure Agarbathies 

Pune, August, 2013: Cycle Pure Agarbathies, India’s largest incense stick brand, conducted the popular Cycle Heritage Quiz 2013; India’s only quiz aimed at educating the students on the Heritage and Culture of our country at the Nehru Memorial Hall, Pune. It is the first time Cycle Heritage Quiz was hosted in Pune and witnessed the presence of popular columnist Tehseen Poonawalla who was the Chief Guest at the Quiz.

Cycle Heritage Quiz was introduced by Cycle Pure Agarbathies in 2011 with an aim to ignite young minds to take pride in our countries heritage and learn more about our mythology, culture, traditions and epics. The first year of the Quiz was hosted in Kolkata in the year 2011 which in the following year was taken to 2 more cities in 2012- Chennai, Kolkata and Ahmedabad. This year the Quiz will be hosted in 6 cities and has received an overwhelming response in Pune and also in Chennai and Hyderabad. The other 3 cities where the quiz will be hosted this year are: Bangalore, Kolkata and Ahmedabad. The Cycle Heritage Quiz was brought to Pune with the objective of reinforcing the value of traditions and heritage in the minds of youngsters.

The Quiz saw a record of over 200 teams from across 40 schools that participated in Pune. Prior to the main Quiz, preliminary rounds were conducted in various schools in Pune reaching out to more than 2000 students. The Cycle Heritage Quiz was inaugurated with the lighting of a lamp and a cultural program that later progressed to the main event. The Quiz comprised of questions related to the heritage of India including, epics, Mythology, origins of festivals and traditions and more. The awards were given away to contestants who had the most prolific knowledge on India’s rich art forms, culture, tradition and history.

Tehseen Poonawalla, Popular columnist said “The Cycle Heritage Quiz is a praiseworthy initiative undertaken by Cycle Pure Agarbathies. With generations progressing quickly and the knowledge of our heritage almost deteriorating- Cycle Heritage Quiz is the best thing to happen to our youngsters. Mr Arjun Ranga, Managing Director, Cycle Pure Agarbathies was overwhelmed with the response to the quiz in Pune. He was spellbound by how well-read the students in Pune were about the Indian culture and heritage. This Quiz is our effort in helping the Indian heritage regain its glory. Cycle Heritage Quiz has received immense appreciation since its inception, which is why we have added 6 more cities to our list this year.
