‘CYCLE HERITAGE QUIZ 2013- CHENNAI’ receives a Heart warming response from the city of Chennai
A spellbinding Heritage quiz by Cycle Pure Agarbathies
Chennai, July, 2012: Cycle Pure Agarbathies, India’s largest incense stick brand, organized the Cycle Heritage Quiz 2013; India’s only quiz aimed at educating the students on the Heritage and Culture of our country, for the second time in Chennai at the Chinmaya Heritage Centre, Chetpet. This year the Cycle Heritage quiz also witnessed the presence of popular TV Personality Mr. Gopinath who was the Quiz Master that kept the audience engrossed through out the quiz.
The Quiz consisted of a preliminary round which saw over 250 teams from 60 schools amongst whom only 6 made it to the final. The Cycle Heritage Quiz began with the lighting of a lamp and a cultural program that later progressed to the Quiz. This year the response to the Cycle Heritage Quiz has increased by two-folds compared to last year. All the questions of the quiz were related to the heritage of India including, epics, Mythology, origins of festivals and traditions and more. The awards were given away to contestants who had the most prolific knowledge on India’s rich art forms, culture, tradition and history.
Mr. Gopinath, Popular TV personality speaking on the occasion said “The Cycle Heritage Quiz is a praiseworthy initiative undertaken by Cycle Pure Agarbathies. With generations progressing quickly and the knowledge of our heritage almost deteriorating- Cycle Heritage Quiz is the best thing to happen to our youngsters. The Cycle Heritage Quiz as a concept was initiated in 2011 with an objective of encouraging young minds to learn about the Country’s rich art forms, culture, tradition and history. Cycle Agarbathies brought this contest to Chennai with the objective of reinforcing the value of traditions and heritage in the minds of youngsters.
Mrs Jannavi Murthy, Managing Partner, NR Group was overwhelmed with the response to the quiz in Chennai. She was spellbound by the amount of knowledge the students in Chennai had about the Indian culture and heritage. Speaking on the occasion Mrs Jannavi Murthy said “Cycle Pure Agarbathies has always believed in upholding Indian culture and preserving its core values. With this quiz we try and re-iterate that fact. Also, last year with the success of Cycle Heritage Quiz in Chennai, we have shortlisted 6 more cities to host the Cycle Heritage Quiz in this year.”
