MYSURU WARRIOR BRING A SMILE TO CHILDREN WITH CLEFT LIP AND PALATE IN THE CITY
- Joins hands with Deutsche Cleft Kinderhilfe, an international NGO and campaigns towards making Mysuru a cleft free city
- Donates Rs. 1 lakh and supports the corrective surgery of 7cleft lip and palate affected children
Mysuru, October 6, 2015: Mysuru Warriors, the KPL team owned by NR Group today reinforced its commitment to help the cleft lip and palate affected children in Mysuru. In the press conference held today the team contributed Rs. 1 lakh to Deutsche Cleft Kinderhilfe an international NGO that offers comprehensive treatment to children with cleft lip and palate across Mysuru. The aid will help Deutsche Cleft Kinderhilfe to ensure corrective surgery for 7 cleft lip and palate affected children in the city. Mr. Arjun Ranga and Mr. Pavan Ranga, Co-Owners Mysuru Warriors presented the contribution to Mr. Dushyant, Regional Head – South Asia, Deutsche Cleft Kinderhilfe.
Speaking about the initiative Mr. Arjun Ranga, Co-owner, Mysuru Warriors and Managing Director, Cycle Pure Agarbathies, said, “Holistic development is a way of life at NR Group. In fact, a significant part of the gains have been spent generously on socially relevant causes. Through the association with Deutsche Cleft Kinderhilfe we not only want to give a new lease of life to the affected children but also want to create awareness and encourage active participation from all walks of life towards the cause.”
Receiving the contribution, Mr. Dushyant, Regional Head – South Asia, Deutsche Cleft Kinderhilfe, said, “We are overwhelmed by the continuous support from Mysuru Warriors towards the cause. I am confident such involvement from both the corporate and sports fraternity can go a long way in changing the lives of the affected children.”
The Mysuru Warriors cleft lip and palette campaign had witnessed the team contributing extensively towards the cause. For every 4s, 6s and wickets the team had contributed Rs. 400/- to Deutsche Cleft Kinderhilfe. The team had scored 91 boundaries and 20 sixes at the recently concluded KPL- 2015. Apart from contributing generously, the campaign also saw Mysuru Warriors working towards creating awareness about the condition on social media.
Cleft lip is one of the most neglected body conditions. Every year, in India around 40,000 children are born and every tenth in them dies before his or her first birthday. Further, the deformity also causes tremendous emotional suffering calling for immediate attention and action.
An ardent believer of sustainable and holistic growth, NR Group has initiated many a causes for the betterment of the society. This passion to give back to the society has resulted in NR Group instituting various initiatives like Project Prerepana, Cycle Scholarship, and Project Unnati. The initiatives are focused on empowering women and children from underprivileged section of the society. NR Group dreams that within a few years at least few players selected through the talent hunts and nurtured by Mysuru Warriors will make it to the national team.
