MYSURU WARRIORS SHORTLISTS 2 PLAYERS TO REPRESENT KPL 2016
2 players selected from the Talent Hunt
Mysuru, 23rd August, 2016: NR Group the owner of Mysuru Warriors conducted a cricket talent hunt in Mysuru at SDNR Stadium, Mysore University on August 17, 2016. The talent hunt saw active participation from Mysuru, Mandya, Ramanagara and Chamarajanagar. Around 92 players turned out for the hunt in which 40 bowlers, 14 batsman, 30 all-rounder and 8 wicket keep cum batsman participated. In the end of the initial rounds, 24 players were shortlisted who were further divided into two teams for a T20 match. The selected players underwent series of practice sessions from which two players were chosen to represent Mysuru Warriors team.
The selected players are:
1. Nanda Kishore — Jo Jo Cricket Club
2. Shreyas N – MUCS
2 players selected will play for Mysuru warriors and represent the team in the upcoming Karbonn Smart KPL 2016 powered by Cycle Pure Agarbathies. They will start practicing in the practice session with the Mysuru Warriors team which is scheduled between 28th August to 14th September.
Speaking about the player selected, Mr. Arjun Ranga, Owner, Mysuru Warriors & Managing Director, Cycle Pure Agarbathies said, “Our state is blessed with great sporting talent. Through this talent hunt, we intended to spot good cricketers from rural Karnataka and provide them a platform to grow and prove themselves. In fact, the enthusiasm and passion for the game from the region has prompted us request KSCA to increase the number of player that can be selected from the region in the next KPL.”
Commenting on the selection process, Rx Murali, Head Coach, Mysuru Warriors said “The response to the selection process was heartwarming. The region is a votary of great cricketing talent. It was extremely difficult for us to select players as each and every player was good. We wish both the selected as well as the others all the very best.”
